Ingredients

¾ cup (86 grams) Dutch-process cocoa powder or Hershey's Special Dark cocoa powder, sifted if lumpy

½ teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1⅓ cups (266 grams) light brown sugar, raw sugar, or coconut sugar

2 large eggs, room temperature

⅔ cup (178 grams) natural almond butter (the kind with just almonds and salt), room temperature

¾ cup (168 grams) unsalted butter or coconut oil, melted and cooled slightly

1½ teaspoons vanilla extract

1½ cups (255 grams) semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips*

⅔ cup (88 grams) dried tart cherries
