for the honey-orange syrup

1 cup organic golden honey

zest and juice of 1 large orange (use a microplane for zesting)

for the pancakes

1/2 cup whole wheat flour

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup fine cornmeal

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 cup salted butter

3 tablespoons honey

1 cup buttermilk

2 large eggs

vegetable oil, for frying
